If you’re looking to enroll at A&M University, you’ll be happy to know that not only will you have a great campus, you’re going to love living in College Station, TX. Of course, before you do decide, you’ll want to take a tour of the University and campus and possibly the area surrounding.

Texas AM University

Register for a Tour

The best way to take a tour of the University is to register for a tour. You’ll have a student who’ll guide you through the tour and show you all the places of interest. They’ll be able to give you the history of the place and let you in on the traditions and student life to be had in A&G University. The tour lasts roughly 90 minutes.

Large Groups

Large groups, such as those booking for a high school can be accommodated. A group must consist of at least 11 people but must not exceed the maximum of 66. These groups should be divided into groups of 10 with each group having one chaperone who is expected to be responsible for the behavior of their group.

Individual tour

If you are on a self guided tour, you have the option to visit further locations for an even better feel for the University. These include the Haynes Ring Plaza, The Campus Bookstore and the Leach Teaching Gardens.

Note that if you want to take a tour on your own, there are shuttle services to get you around the University. These are free to use for anyone.

The University puts the highest priority on the safety of their students, faculty, staff, and visitors and regularly update their Guidance Measures for Covid. There’s free testing and vaccination onsite and for students, staff and faculty, which they believe creates the best environment not only for all who are part of University life but for visitors too.

Take a Virtual tour

If you are unable to currently attend a visit, you can still take the tour virtually. You can register for tours which take place at 3:30 pm during weekdays and last an hour. There are many different tours available showing the many different disciplines and activities the University offers. Altogether, there are 11 different tours ranging from colleges for agriculture, geosciences, liberal arts, architecture and biomedical sciences. You may choose to go on the tours that are of your particular interest but the tours are open for anyone. You may find that going on other tours not related to your field of study might open other avenues of interest and study for you. That’s part of the university experience.

Planning your stay

It’s easy to get to the University as it’s no more than 3 hours away from the main cities in Texas. However, you can save yourself even that journey as the University has its own airport. Easterwood airport connects to Houston International Airport and Dallas-Fort-Worth Airport and is only 5 minutes away from the campus.

Spending more than a day visiting, gives you a great opportunity to really get a feel for the A&M University. There are many hotels close by, all of which provide easy access to the University itself. However, why not stay at the Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center and take advantage of a good getaway as well as the serious business of scouting your university choice. The hotel is very comfortable and offers great amenities including a fitness center and multiple dining options.

There’s so much to see and things to do in College Station that a day won’t really give you the time to see even half of it. It’s a great idea to spend a couple of days on campus to get to really know what life at A&M University is all about.
