The museum is a great spot for families, friends, and anyone who wants to learn more about civic history.

Why visit: The exhibit houses a stunning collection of objects from George H.W. Bush’s time in office, including a chunk of the Berlin Wall and various gifts from dignitaries. You’ll even find a World War II Avenger Torpedo Bomber within its walls.

  4. 1702 George Bush Drive East
    979.696.5282

Few things in life are as rewarding as a cup of hot coffee on a chilly afternoon. If you’re looking for a warm place to relax, head over to Sweet Eugene’s, a local coffeehouse and bakery at George Bush Drive.

Since 1993, Sweet Eugene’s has been serving excellent coffee and delightful baked goods to both tourists and locals. Grab a cup of Ginger Peach Tea and settle down with a book or a laptop. Or you can explore unique flavors like the Waffle Latte or the Snickers Latte. Feeling hungry? Their in-house bakery offers familiar favorites perfect for breakfast or lunch.

Why Visit: You can tell by the ambiance that people come here to unwind: the seats are comfortable, the art is cool, and the treats are indulgent. It’s the perfect stop after a long day of exploring the town.

  5. Tex-Mex at   Fuegos Tortilla Grill
  6. 108 Poplar Street
    979.703.1804

There’s an abundance of Tex-Mex hotspots in College Station, but one place you have to put on your bucket list is the original Fuego Tortilla Grill. Try their homemade Tacos de Fuego for a classic street-style Mexican dish, or drive by for a breakfast burrito if you’re in a hurry.

Why visit: You can’t go wrong with Tex-Mex, especially when it’s from one of the best restaurants in town. The place is open 24/6 (closed only on Mondays) so you’re free to grab breakfast as early as you please, or stop by for a 2 a.m. bite after a night out with friends.

  7. Music and drinks at Northgate
  8. 401 University Drive

Ask any local about Aggieland nightlife and they’ll point you to Northgate. Here, you can expect everything from classic American bars to live country music shows and dance halls.

Stop by the Dixie Chicken – lovingly dubbed “The Chicken” – and enjoy a plate of their famous fried chicken alongside an ice-cold beer. If you’re into beer pong, The Backyard offers a life-sized version of the game where players dunk basketballs (instead of ping pong balls) into trash cans. They also have $1.50 wells and $3 beers until 11 p.m.

Live music can be found almost anywhere at Northgate, but the largest bar and dancehall is at Hurricane Harry’s, where people of any age can enjoy a fun night of dancing and country music.

Why visit: It’s only fitting that a college town has a bustling nightlife, and a trip to College Station wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Northgate.
